A man from the Chelmsford area who had been reported missing on Saturday has been found.

Police had launched a widespread search for Adam Holgate, 38, on Saturday morning.

Fears for Mr Holgate's safety had been raised after his car was found abandoned on a farm track at the junction of Roxwell Road and Lordship Road, in Chelmsford.

Mr Holgate attended Chelmsford police station at about 9.30am this morning and was taken to Broomfield Hospital, where he is receiving treatment.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "Officers wish to thank members of the public who have assisted in this investigation and also thank the media for their help by publicising appeals for information."
