Stunning flower displays depicting the Queen’s diamond jubilee were enjoyed by crowds at this year’s flower festival in Woodham Walter.

The festival, entitled ‘A diamond year’, showcased arrangements themed around the Queen and commonwealth, as well as the Olympic Games.

Despite the pouring rain this year’s festival was as good as any other with flocks of people coming to see the beautiful creations.

Ann Maxwell, organiser of the four-day festival at St Michael’s Church, said on the day: “It’s going very well, it’s extremely busy.

“We’ve got a big marquee to cover us up from the rain, it’s certainly not put us off."
