Maldon district: Staff and councillors 'must talk'

MORE interaction between staff and councillors is needed if Maldon District Council is to “work correctly”.

Members of the council’s overview and scrutiny committee said they felt staff should be encouraged to talk to them following a staff survey that revealed some workers did not understand the role of councillors.

Richard Dewick (Con, Tillingham) said: “Members of staff should talk to councillors and councillors should talk to staff.

“Until that happens, this authority will never work correctly.”
