THE Maldon and District RNLI committee has thanked supporters who helped raise more than £2,770 for the charity.
During peak holiday season, the RNLI, which is entirely funded by voluntary contributions, trains and provides lifesaving equipment for all lifeguards patrolling beaches and estuaries around the coastline.
John Rodgers, Maldon and District RNLI committee press officer, said: “This service would not be possible without your generous support.
“A big thank you therefore to everyone who has contributed in any way.”
The cash was collected during recent house to house collections and a collection in Maldon High Street.
If you would like to help with fundraising contact John on 01621 853841.
