A COUNCIL has awarded community organisations more than £130,000 in grants.

The community services committee for Maldon District Council agreed to give £73,100 to the Citizens Advice Bureau, £22,600 towards voluntary services, £10,300 to Saint FM as the council is one of the radio station’s partners and £11,900 to the Rural Community Council for Essex.

The members also considered 41 other applications for funding for community groups across the Maldon district.
