JEWELLERY worth £16,000 was stolen during a house burglary in Fish Street, Goldhanger, between 8am and 3.50pm on Wednesday June 17.

Thieves forced their way into the house through a lounge window using a jemmy and left through a back door.

Christine Walker of Maldon police said a messy search was carried out once they were inside.

She said: “It was in broad daylight so someone must have seen something.”

Any witnesses or anyone with information should contact DC Steven Bennett at Maldon police station on 01621 852255.
