A FARM has been ransacked by thieves who stole more than £13,000 worth of equipment after disconnecting an electric fence.

A shed, animal feed and about 200 fence poles were taken from Roundbush Farm, Burnham Road, Mundon between the early hours of the morning and 11am on Thursday March 19.

The shed measured about 8ft by 10ft and the thieves caused about £1,000 damage removing the large amount of equipment.

Police believe the thieves were organised. Ray Stannard, crime reduction officer for Maldon police, said: “You don’t do that in a few minutes, to with that number of posts.

“It is not a casual job and they have planned to go there and it would take time.”

Anyone with any information call PC Nicola Clarke, Southminster police, on 0300 333 4444.
