GOLD bracelets, rings, chains and earrings were stolen from a home in Tillingham.

The items were taken during a burglary in North Street.

A Victorian gold watch with a white enamel face and rose motif on the back was also stolen.

Police are appealing for information to find the jewellery and the people responsible.

A spokesman said: "Entry was forced into the house between 12.30pm and 6pm on Wednesday, November 29, and the rooms upstairs were messily searched.

"The jewellery was taken away in a bag, which is described as being made of pale fabric with a pink and blue butterfly pattern. The bag has a tan coloured strap and three pockets along its front."

Witnesses who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the incident or anyone who has been asked if they were interested in buying gold jewellery and are suspicious of where it came from, should contact PC George Denison at Chelmsford Police Station on 101 and quote incident number 892 of November 29.
