Entrepreneurs enjoyed a day of advice and support after a business bus rolled into town.

The Small Business Bus Tour arrived in Maldon last week, where experts offered insight into setting up and running firms.

A number of business who made the Small Business Saturday top 100 were in attendance including Mandie Holgate, Business Coach, Secret Hamper and Evo Supplies.

Gagan Mohindra, Essex County Council deputy cabinet member for economic growth, said: “We are thrilled that the Small Business bus tour visited Maldon as part of its national tour to support businesses.

“The day was a fantastic opportunity for small businesses to showcase their work and for others to learn about business growth and gain valuable insight.

“I would encourage our residents to shop locally and support small businesses every day but in particular in the run up to Christmas and on Small Business Saturday which falls on Saturday December 2.

“Small businesses provide a huge contribution to the local economy and Essex County Council is committed to supporting them through continued investment in infrastructure, education and business support.”

Nigel Richardson, founder of Secret Hamper, added: “We are a unique small business and it’s fantastic to be in the Small Business Saturday’s Top 100 and to be recognised.

“Secret Hamper also supports up to ten to 15 other businesses by using their produce and it’s important to all help each other and keep it local.”
