HUNDREDS attended Remembrance services across the district on Sunday as they marked Armistice Day.
Burnham Baptist Church hosted a church service which was followed by the laying of wreaths at the town's war memorial and performacnes from Rayleigh Brass Band.
Serving and ex-members of the armed forces attended a service at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome, in Purleigh.
In the region of a hundred people also gathered on Tililngham Square for the Remembrance Service on Sunday.
In Maldon a service was held at the town's War Memorial, in High Street.
Town Clerk Jane Coleman said: "It went very well.
"Residents gathered in the morning for the wreath laying service which was led by Pastor Mark Ambrose.
"A cross was laid in remembrance of the 73 Maldon men who fell in 1917."
Their names were read out by the mayor, council chairman and MP.
