FOR those of us who do not have a garden, our prayers have been answered.

TV gardener Lee Connelly, also known as the Skinny Jean Gardener, visited Perrywood Garden Centre in Tiptree to make 'takeaway gardens'.

Visitors were blessed with good weather and were able to sit outside with Lee as he showed them how to make mini gardens they could take wherever they went.

He said: "Nowadays some people don't have gardens, they may only have patios or window sills. They also may not want to spend lots of money.

"I did demonstrations on how to make takeaway gardens in plant pots, pumpkins and baked bean cans, so they can take the gardens with them."

People of all ages joined in the fun and took an interest in learning about the different plants.

Lee said: "It was a really nice day and everyone got involved. Everyone had a really good time.

"We planted things like grasses and Heathers, just bringing some colour in."
