AN advice service will welcome two choirs and a handbell group to raise funds for their work in the community.

Maldon Citizens Advice has organised the event at All Saints’ Church in Maldon on Friday.

The performers - Chelmsford Male Voice Choir, Maldon Court School Choir and the All Saints Maldon Handbell Ringers – will take to the stage to help raise money for the service’s outreach work across the district.

Maldon Citizens Advice holds weekly surgeries from the Burnham Town Council offices in Chapel Road Burnham and out of Southminster library.

The limited availability of public transport to Maldon from outlying areas and the cost of making the journey for those with little money or disabilities means that the outreach services are a lifeline for some clients.

Home visits are also offered to more vulnerable residents.

The concert will see performers ranging in age from six-years-old to 92.

Lucy Bettley, manager of Maldon Citizens Advice, said: “We are delighted to have the support of more than 100 entertainers to give us a brilliant concert to boost our funds.”

It will take place from 7pm on Friday with tickets priced at £10.

Tickets are available from Citizens Advice in the council offices and Talking Flowers 37 High Street, Maldon.
