A MALDON based artist is holding an exhibition over the next two weeks.
Artist Angelique Hartigan, has been observing the town since her arrival in Maldon and will be showing a new collection of local scenes in her now familiar unique and contemporary style.
Originally from London, Angelique moved away from traditional easel painting, to a more energetic technique that better reflects her personality. By laying the canvas on the floor, Angelique is able to move freely around all sides, working continuously, dripping, spilling and throwing paint on in layers.
The image builds before the eyes into majestic landscapes, park scenes, city street views, to architectural representations of landmark buildings and commissions of private residence.
Her exhibition will be held at the Maeldune Heritage Centre on Market Hill from Saturday August 25 to September 12, open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 4pm.
