A FAMILY run removal business has raised hundreds of pounds for charity through fundraiser events.

The owners of Mr O Removals Louise O’Brien and Richard O’Loughlin, based in Tiptree, took part in their second charity event by hosting a cream tea event and raffle at St Luke’s Church Hall.

They took part in the St Helena Hospice £50 challenge, which involved local companies around Essex, raising as much money as possible, starting with a £50 note donated by Birkett Long LLP Solicitors.

Each business has four months to complete the challenge, donating everything that they’ve raised to the hospice, who support the patients, families and carers of those in need, at the end of the run.

Previously this year, Mr O Removals donated five per cent of every move to a charity very close to the family’s heart called Amy and Friends, a charity that raises awareness of Cockayne Syndrome (CS) a premature aging disease.

They raised a total of £300 and have since set out to continue to fundraise more.

As the previous event went down so well, the company decided to take part in the £50 Challenge.

Since starting in 2012, the challenge has raised more than £200,000 which only continues to rise.

The cream tea event raised £275.88.
