HISTORY came to life at Stow Maries Aerodrome, as the First World War airfield hosted its Stow Maries at War event.

The event, which took place last weekend, featured spectacular air displays from vintage aircrafts, demonstrations from stunt display teams, and the chance to get up close and personal with World War One history.

The historic airfield also gave visitors the chance to try out authentic uniforms, weaponry, equipment and training exhibitions.

There were authentic demonstrations, a marching band as well as an exhibition by award winning Frist World War aviation artist, Graham Turner.

Chief Executive, Ian Flint said: “I am over the moon with this amazingly successful event. To have the best of Great War Living History represented, as well as the wonderful aircraft in the skies above, really made this an unforgettable weekend.”
