A PRIMARY school will be holding its annual summer fair this weekend.

The Parent, Teachers and Friends Association for Heybridge Primary School will be holding its annual summer fair this Saturday.

The event was successfully revived three years ago and plans are again well underway for what is a major date in the fundraising group’s calendar.

Last year, it raised more than £3,000 for the school.

This year there will be live music for the first time, from popular local band 6 String Makeover, a bird of prey flying display and the chance to meet the birds. There will be a barbecue, tea tent and cake sale.

Sharon Hopkins, chairman of the PTFA, said: “I just want everybody to have a really good fun day.

“We are really excited about what we have planned this year, because we have lots of new attractions as well as the favourites returning from previous years.”

Returning favourites include bouncy castles, a host of stalls and food producers, glitter tattoos, stalls organised by the classes and teachers themselves including a chocolate raffle and bottle tombola and a raffle.

Top prize will be £100 cash but there is also the chance to win a Kindle fire and Shopping Voucher.

Tickets are available from the school or on the day.

The fair begins at 11am on the school field on Rowan Drive and continues until 3pm.
