A HOST of events were held across Burnham as parishioners helped raise £3,000 during Christian Aid week.
Churches Together in Burnham organised a coffee mornings, cake making, a barbecue and sponsored walks.
They also arranged house to house collections throughout the week.
This year Christian Aid marks 60 years having been initially set up to assist the many thousands of displaced people after the Second World War.
The plight of refugees has been the focus of this year’s campaign.
Bob Melton, of Burnham United Reformed Church, said: “Burnham churches have been actively supporting Christian Aid for over 50 years and this year has been no exception with activities involving young and old from all the local churches.
“We are confident that we are well on our way to achieving over £3000, which is a great result from a relatively small town.”
