A SOUTHMINSTER charity which supports elderly people in the area has been presented with a cheque by Nisa in the town.
The Dengie Project Trust, who run Knightswood Day Centre, in Steeple Road, were gifted £700 by Nisa, in North Street, Southminster, to support them with the work they do caring for the elderly, sick and lonely in the area.
The donation comes a year after Nisa donated £1,000 to the charity.
The money will be used to provide for Knighstwood’s customers in their current base in Steeple Road.
The day centre will soon be moving to a new site in Hall Road, as it looks to cut its costs in order to provide the best possible care to those who rely on the service.
Trustee Steve Sibley added: “We will keep all residents in the area informed of the completion date of this state-of-the-art day centre.
“As a charity we receive no formal funding and rely heavily on the number of clients attending the day centre as well as individual donations from time to time.”
