GOVERNMENT funding for various council projects has been approved for the 2017/18 financial year.

Maldon District Council has this week been granted funding from the government for five different grants and schemes for its services.

£1,431,139 has been granted for Baseline Funding, the government’s perceived level of business rates the council requires to support its service delivery.

Grants of £169,424, £40,076 and £24,730 have been issued for revenue support, transition and rural services delivery, which will support service delivery, local authorities and rural authorities.

Additionally, a £797,068 grant has been issued for New Homes Bonus including a £9,800, which reflects and incentivises housing growth in the area.

Fiona Marshall, Chief Executive of Maldon District Council said “This funding is in line with expectations and already factored into the Council’s 2017/18 budget. It will support the Council’s delivery of key services and functions.”
