A GIANT 70ins TV could be installed in a council office.
Maldon District Council has agreed to provide recording equipment and funds for a TV for the chambers at Burnham Town Council’s Chapel Road offices.
Town councillor Peter Elliot told said: “Maldon District Council has agreed to provide the sound recording equipment to the council to use for committee meetings.
“The current microphones we have in place have been deemed fit to use to record, but the problem is the screen.
“We need to decide if we want a TV or a projector and where it should go.”
The council agreed to trial using a 70ins television instead of a projector. The meeting even heard a large TV could be bought for as little as £200.
Town mayor Ron Pratt said: “If we trial the TV being placed over the frame of the entrance doorway it would make it very easy for all members to see.”
The motion was passed by council members, and a TV will be trialled at a future meeting.
