A CHURCH in Burnham is set to light up blue this weekend in support of a worldwide charity day.

St Mary’s Church in Burnham will be lit up blue on Sunday in support of World Autism Awareness Day.

As well as the lighting display, many activities will be going on throughout the day. On the church green there will be stalls, entertainment, bouncy castles, miniature horses, sand art and face painting.

There will also be an ice cream van, with more refreshments being provided by the Burnham Scouts and two caterers from The Lamb Shack and Heavenly Hot Dog company.

For adults, there will also be a prosecco van and vintage horsebox bar on site.

The brilliant voices of Tom Newman Clark and Loula Panayi to entertain the crowds throughout the afternoon.

All proceeds from the event will be going to the “Columbus School and College” in Chelmsford, which assists in helping children with all aspects of disabilities.

The event takes place at the church from 3pm to 7pm on Sunday, with free parking available at Ormiston Rivers Academy. A donation of 50p will be asked for on the door, with children going in free of charge.

The lighting of the church will close the event later in the evening after the sun goes down.
