A MAN has denied robbery and possessing an offensive weapon at a Burnham convenience store.
Justin Smith, 44, of Dunkirk Road, Burnham appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates after being charged with one count of robbery and one count of possessing an offensive weapon.
He denied both charges and was remanded in custody to next appear for trial at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 23.
Staff were threatened with what is believed to be a purple kitchen knife during a robbery at One Stop Stores in High Street Burnham, yesterday, Wednesday February 22 at 6.10am.
A number of items including a charity box, tobacco and alcohol were stolen.
No one was injured.
