THE works of an internationally acclaimed artist will go on display in Maldon.

A selection of works by Scottish artist Barbara Rae CBE will be exhibited at Hayletts Gallery in Maldon.

Rae’s works feature vibrant abstract images inspired by her travels.

Born in 1943, she has taken inspiration from the atmospheric and mysterious colours of Scotland and Ireland in her latest screenprints.

Her pictures combine the influence of landscape and travel with her love of travel unleashed after she was awarded a travel scholarship in 1966.

Rae studied at Edinburgh College of Art from 1961 to 1965.

Her works will be on display and available for sale at Hayletts Gallery, Oakwood House, High Street, Maldon.

The exhibition takes place until February 25.

The gallery is open from 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Saturday.
