A MAN has been released without charged after being arrested on suspicion of theft, burglary and dangerous driving.

A 30-year-old man from South Woodham Ferrers was arrested by Essex Police on Monday morning in Melville Heath, South Woodham Ferrers.

Police had been called to the area following reports a Ford Focus was stolen from the road.

The car was found by police in Melville Heath, and the 30-year-old was arrested on suspicion of taking a motor vehicle without consent, driving without insurance and driving while disqualified, as well as theft, burglary and dangerous driving.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Police were called to reports that a Ford Focus had been stolen from an address in Melville Heath, South Woodham Ferrers, at around 8am today (Monday, February 13).

“The car was found shortly afterwards in Melville Heath and a 30-year-old man, from South Woodham Ferrers, was arrested for taking a motor vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving while disqualified, theft and two counts of burglary.”

He has since been released without charge.
