PUPILS are Maldon Court Preparatory School held their annual Conker Competition.

Pupils from reception to form six took part in individual class knock out rounds to decide their class winner.

Once all winners had been whittled out, a grand final was held to determine the overall school champion.

The competition has been held annually in the autumn term at the school for several years, with the children always looking forward to trying to win the prestigious trophy.

Before it began, the rules of the competition were explained, conkers inspected and strings measured to ensure safety and fairness during the competition.

Thomas Philips was crowned the whole school Conker Champion 2016.

Head teacher Mrs Mason said: “Each year all of the children become very excited awaiting the annual Conker Competition, which is organised and hosted by the Form 6 pupils.”
