A BIG BAND that featured on BBC’s Children in Need as well as London’s Leicester Square Theatre will be performing in Maldon.
Five Star Swing are a combination of vocalists and multi-instrumentalists, who perform big band jazz, swing and blues.
They will be swinging into Maldon Town Hall on Wednesday December 7 to perform Christmas hits and give them the dynamic big band treatment.
Songs will also include material from artists such as Glenn miller, Sinatra, Basie and Nate King Cole, to provide jazz to the traditional jingle bells.
As well as featuring in London and on the BBC, the band have performed at Dame Vera Lynn’s Charity Ball and Blackpool Tower Ballroom Poppy Appeal.
The show will also feature Simone from the Ivy Benson Orchestra, and Chris Smith Jr, also leader of the band, composer and arranger for the BBC Radio Big Band.
Experienced in all types of functions and Stage Shows, under Chris’ direction five Star Swing’s excellent vocalists and musicians create the vibrant sound of the Big Band era.
The band will perform at Maldon Town Hall on Market Hill from 7pm on Wednesday December 7.
