WOMEN ran, cycled and swam to help raise money for a breast cancer charity.

The indoor triathlon at the Blackwater Leisure Centre in Maldon saw 40 women tackle the 1.6km run, 4km bike ride and 200m swim.

The women were helping to raise money for Breast Cancer Care UK on Sunday.

Maldon District Council helped organise the event using Active Essex funding.

Sabrina May, who helped organise the event, said: “It was fantastic.

“It went really well and was the first indoor triathlon event we had done.

“Everyone was saying they would want to do it again.

“We had 40 people taking part which was a good turnout and what we were hoping for.”
