LOOKING for a spooky-themed event to enjoy this half term?

The Standard has put together a list of the top Halloween events happening across the district. 

1. A MORNING of spooky surprises will take place at Maldon library.

The event, at the library in White Horse Lane, takes place on Thursday from 10am to 11.30am.

There will be free craft activities, a quiz and spooky stories for youngsters.

Children are also welcome to come along in their Halloween costumes.

2. A ZOO will be holding a Hallowe’en event throughout the half term.

The Tropical Wings Zoo in South Woodham Ferrers will host Boo in the Zoo, featuring spooky attractions and activities alongside the collection of animals for the public to enjoy.

It is an ideal half-term pastime for youngsters.

The event takes place from Saturday, October 22 to October 30, from 9.30am to 5.30pm daily.

3. MALDON Ghost Walks will be running its last tour of the town for 2016.

The walk begins at the War Memorial at All Saints’ Church on Maldon High Street at 7pm on Saturday, October 29.

Maldon and Burnham Standard:

Adults cost £5, under 16s cost £3 and under- fives are free.

4. A SPOOKY science event will be held at the Museum of Power in Langford on Sunday.

The museum will host hands-on mad science and wacky magic activities as well as the miniature steam train being open for rides throughout the day in addition to their famous model village.

The science day takes place from 10am to 4pm, costing £6 for adults, seniors £5, children 15-5 £2.50 and under-fives free.

5. A PUB is hosting a series of spooktacular Halloween activities to raise money for the NSPCC during half term.

The Shaw Farm in South Woodham Ferrers will be taking part in Go Green for Halloween from Saturday until October 31.

Maldon and Burnham Standard:

There will be a host of activities including ghostly story-telling and face painting.

People are also invited to go green by wearing their best ghoulish green costumes.

In addition to its half-term week of Halloween activities, The Shaw Farm will also be donating 25p from every meal ordered from its specials board to the NSPCC throughout October and November.
