MALDON District Council has launched a public consultation on the district’s local development plan following many delays.
Planning Inspector Simon Berkeley had asked for a sustainability appraisal from the Council to be provided on August 12.
Works were finally completed at the start of the month, with the inspector granting permission to launch the consultation.
As well as the proposed main modifications to the LDP, the council are also inviting consultation on the implications of the household projections and housing needs for the district, and the sustainability appraisal report update from the inspector.
The consultation began today, Friday September 16, and will last for six weeks until Thursday October 27.
All comments should be received by 11.59pm on October 27. The inspector will only take comments directly related to the three documents being consulted on.
Copies of the documents are available online at maldon.gov.uk or from the council offices on Princes Road, Maldon.
Comments should be sent to policy@maldon.gov.uk or posted to Strategic Planning Manager, Maldon District Council, Princes Road, Maldon, CM9 5DL.
