A FIVE-year-old from Burnham has had her hair cut for charity.
Rosie Meredith donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust after having it cut on Saturday.
The trust uses the hair to make wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment.
Rosie’s grandmother, Vicki Meredith, who runs Reed Hair on Maldon High Street where Rosie had her cut, explained what inspired Rosie.
She said: “Our salon is part of a charity called ‘My New Hair’. It was set up by celebrity stylist, Trevor Sorbie, and it involves cutting wigs to give to cancer patients.
“I have been working with Trevor to learn how to cut the hair to be used in wigs.
“My granddaughter Rosie has seen that and one day she decided that she wanted to volunteer to have her hair cut.
“I explained to her about The Little Princess Trust, who do wigs for children receiving cancer treatment, and once she found out about that she couldn’t be stopped.”
