A MALDON woman will be shaving her head for charity in August.

Clare Moyce, 31, of Friars Lane in Maldon, is planning to take part in the ‘Brave the Shave’ campaign run by Macmillan Cancer Support.

The money Clare raises will go towards helping Macmillan offer support to those who have had their world turned upside down by cancer.

Clare explained what motivated her to take part in the campaign.

She said: “Within my family we have lost a few people to cancer and where I work I know people who have lost relatives as well.

“I wanted to do something for them and I thought about having my hair cut.

“I saw the ‘Brave for Shave’ stuff, and then kept seeing it everywhere I was going. I even dreamt about it.

“I thought to myself, this has to be a sign, and I signed up.”

Clare will have her head shaved at Reed Hair, Maldon, where she will be joined by her two-year-old daughter.

As well as raising money by having her head shaved, Clare will also be donating the hair to the Little Princess Trust.

The trust provides wigs to children across the country who have lost their own hair due to their cancer treatment.
