A SUMMER festival drew in the crowds when it took place across three days at the weekend.

The Spirit of Summer festival, which took place in Heybridge, was created by Lyz Le Fay.

Now in its fourth year it got underway on Friday at the Millbeach Pub with an evening of music by Full Mental Racket.

On Saturday crowds turned out to see a variety of stalls selling homemade products, crafts, and clothes as well as stalls for henna tattoos and holistic readings.

Food included North Indian cuisine, fresh fruit and veg and burgers and hot dogs.

Workshops took place throughout Sunday with lessons in belly dancing and meditative dance.

There was also music ranging from folk, rock, celtic rock to blues.

Lyz said: “I wanted to show people the importance of spirituality from all religions and followings.

“At the time, people had questions about spirituality and I thought, why not organise an event where they can get questions answered, find out about spirituality and the importance of it in our lives.”

Lyz said the event had been “brilliant”. She added: “I love organising events. The highlight is watching the smiles on people’s faces.”
