THE Blackwater Country Show will continue its well established annual family event in Heybridge in June.

The show is situated within the picturesque setting of the Heybridge Lakes, and each year’s event is the result of a dedicated team working throughout the year in various areas of the show.

Aiming to be an interesting and exciting learning experiences for patrons of any age, the show develops its ideas to promote the countryside and countryside pursuits.

The Great Outdoors, taking part in schemes, and keeping active are covered by many areas of the show, with a wealth of activities, demonstrations and attractions taking place.

All funds and donations that are raised on the day through entry price and activities are donated to Essex Air Ambulance, with a different local club, charity or group being selected each year.

The show’s Main Ring has hosts of displays and entertainment throughout the day, including a fun dog show, birds of prey displays, hounds, heavy horses and military vehicles.

The fields are scattered with marquees with quality gifts, homewares and local food and produce stalls, with the majority of produced locally sourced from the district.

The show has also been keen to keep up people’s involvement in sports and physical activities, and their sports area serves to introduce people to various activities.

Archery, fly ball, a climbing wall, kayaking and canoeing on the lakes, and a shooting range are all up for the taking.

The event also has a sprawling showground for skilled craftsmen and local producers, including wool spinning, wood turning and a Viking living history village.

The showcase also is committed to displaying the historical side to the district’s motoring scene in the form of impressive displays of vintage tractors and farming machinery, classical cars, modern farming machines and a Land Rover Club.

The show is also extremely dog friendly with a novelty dog show, agility course and fly ball demonstrations proving popular each year.

The show opens its fields on Sunday June 19 near Chigborough Road, Heybridge, with on the gate tickets being £9 for adults and £4 for children with a family ticket of two adults and two children at £23.
