A PLUCKY fundraiser has completed the first of two charity challenges by walking the distance of more than two marathons in aid of a hospice.

Carole Randall, 44, of North Fambridge, is walking two 100k walks to raise money for Farleigh Hospice.

Last week on the May 1 bank holiday she completed a 106km walk around the Isle of Wight with friend Jackie James.

She had been due to take on a second 100k walk from London to Brighton at the end of the month but has decided to opt for an alternative challenge.

Carole said: “We’ve decided to swap London2Brighton for another 100km challenge.

“We had such a good time on Isle of Wight we didn’t want to burst the bubble so we’re looking at the other challenges the same organisation does before the end of the summer.”

Carole caught the walking bug after taking part in the London moonwalk in 2014.

Last year Carole, who works on a European regional development-funded project at Anglia Ruskin University, and Jackie completed the Moonwalk.

Carole held a charity concert to raise money for the hospice at the end of April which has helped contribute to her £722 total.
