Police are hunting the whereabouts of a wanted man who failed to turn up at court for trial.

Daniel O’Hagan was found guilty of robbery at Chelmsford Crown Court in his absence and sentenced to five years’ imprisonment last Wednesday.

The 25-year-old was one of two men charged with robbery after suspects threatened and injured the occupant of a flat in Dryden Close, Maldon and stole a games console and jewellery on December 3, 2013.

Detectives now need to trace O’Hagan so he can serve his prison sentence.

He is also wanted in connection with an incident in Southminster on July 30, 2015 in which a woman was assaulted and criminal damage in Southminster on September 29, 2014.

O’Hagan was last known to be living in Fambridge Road, Maldon.

He is white, 6ft 3in tall and of slim to medium build, with light brown hair which is usually kept short and is clean shaven.

He is known to have links to Croydon in south London.

Anyone with information about O’Hagan’s whereabouts is asked to call 101.

Anyone who would rather not speak to police can pass information anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.

No personal details will be recorded and no one will know you called.

O’Hagan’s co-defendant for robbery, 21-year-old Anis Miah of Cross Road, Maldon, appeared at court for trial.

He was found guilty of robbery and jailed for four years.
