Almost a thousand people toasted another successful beer festival.

The fourth South Woodham Beer and Cider festival, organised by the Maldon and Dengie Campaign for Real Ale, was held from Thursday until Saturday.

This year, it had a Welsh theme, with a number of ciders and beers from across the border, including Brecon Brewing, Celt Experience and Gwynt y Ddraig.

In total, there were more than 35 beers and ciders on offer in the village hall, Hullbridge Road.

Chris Harvey said: “Numbers were up about a third on last year.

“We had about 900 people over the three day festival.

“I am delighted how well it went – the Welsh theme was very well received, as well the new venue.”
