Burglars have blitzed pubs across the Maldon district, leaving landlords thousands of pounds out of pocket.
Numerous pubs have been burgled in a spate of break ins, including premises in Maldon, Heybridge, Heybridge Basin, Goldhanger and Danbury.
Staff at The Chequers in The Square, Goldhanger, discovered on Monday that the pub had been targeted.
Landlord Dominic Davies said: “We’re upset and disappointed."
Burglars also struck at the Borough Arms Hotel in Wantz Road, leaving landlord Jason Hazell fuming.
