Massive solar farm proposal sparks concern for villagers
Controversial plans are in the pipeline for a solar farm spanning more than 90 football pitches.
A consultant has been in touch with Maldon District Council over plans for a solar farm on 65 hectares of land north west of Park Farm, Park Lane, Tolleshunt Knights, sparking fresh concerns for villagers.
If plans are given the go ahead, the solar farm could be in place for as long as 25 years.
The area has been subject to several solar-farm planning enquiries since 2013.
A previous proposal for a 90-hectare solar farm sparked concerns that it would be visually detrimental to Grade I listed Layer Marney Tower and gardens.
