A couple have branded a police raid on their motorhome “absolutely ridiculous”.
Dozens of officers searched a motorhome and shed belonging to Jean Gossage and her partner Neville Saveall on Tuesday afternoon.
A police helicopter was also seen over the Blackwater Estuary Estate in Bradwell, where they own a plot of land.
Lorry driver Mrs Gossage said: “I’m extremely angry.
“We will be pressing charges.
“I’m at a loss why they should do this.
“Who are we? The blinking mafia?”
An Essex Police spokesman said: “Police executed a warrant at premises in Bradwell Road, St Lawrence, on Tuesday, April 21.
“It followed reports of gunshots being regularly fired in the area.
“No weapons were recovered.”
