Scarecrow making got underway as two villages prepared for a festival.
On Saturday, residents gathered at St Thomas’ Church in Bradwell for a scarecrow making workshop ahead of the Scarecrow Festival, taking place over the early May bank holiday weekend.
Organisers handed out bags of straw, clothing and hessian sacks to get the ball rolling.
Event spokesman Laurie Main said: “We had a splendid turnout with people from the Community Shop, both churches and the school coming along to St Thomas’ Church.
“Parents and children also came to see how to make scarecrows."
The festival will take place in Bradwell and St Lawrence.
Organisers are hoping that residents will get into the spirit of the festival by displaying scarecrows in their gardens.
