GLAMOROUS rockers The Darkness, indie rock group The Hoosiers and homegrown talent are set to join the line-up of exciting artists at this year’s Brownstock Festival.

The Stow Maries festival already has an impressive list of headliners, including big-beat twosome Basement Jaxx, rapper Example and drum ‘n’ bass producer DJ Fresh but the growing festival continues to add new acts to its bill.

Glam BRIT award winners The Darkness, fronted by the falsetto-reaching frontman Justin Hawkins, will be joining the party and fans can expect to head-bang to favourite hits including I Believe In a Thing Called Love and Growing On Me during their set while The Hoosiers will offer up an indie rock feel to the festival’s menu.

DJ and producer Shadow Child, known by many for his BBC Radio 1 shows, has also been revealed as joining the line-up of artists, alongside Indiana and Bondax.

Other recent editions include DJ Friction, MJ Cole and DJ Zinc while Ibiza Rocks resident DJ Doorly is also set to get the crowd dancing.

Artists Ratpack, Fono, Rene Lavice, Culture Shock, Rat Boy and Them&Us will also be taking to the stage.

But homegrown talent will also be delighting crowds with a number of up-and-coming Essex artists and bands set to appear on the Treehouse Stage, hosted by Fréses Events.

South Woodham Ferrers band Stealing Signs will be returning to the festival for a special three hour Treehouse Stage takeover, while Anna Mcluckie, of talent show The Voice, will perform alongside acts including Youth Club, Courts, Dojo, Midnight Barbers, October Glow, Calgary, Local Life DJs, John The Baptist, Darcy and Fréres DJs.

Andy Laurie, Freres Events, Curator of the Treehouse Stage, said: “We are very happy to be hosting the Treehouse stage again this year! Our mission is to put on the best possible line-up we can with a good mixture of local and unsigned acts.

“We tend to book our acts on them being unique, different, or that just have that spark about them!

“There are some great acts already confirmed and more to come, we can't wait to see them all live at the festival!”

Weekend tickets for the festival, which will be held at Morris Farm, Stow Maries, from July 10 – 12, are on sale now, priced at £79 from Brownstock.co.uk
