A keen fossil hunter will be displaying her finds from across the Dengie.

Mum-of-four Jennie Donnelly, of Burnham, started collecting fossils from the area last year and she is now preparing to put on an exhibition at Burnham Museum.

She has been particularly interested in the shoreline around the Creeksea area, which attracts collectors from as far away as Holland.

Miss Donnelly said: “I thought it would make an interesting chapter to the museum.

“They have had history in the museum from the Ice Age, which was their starting point previously.

“This will take it back 50 million years.

“I have been interested in fossils most of my life and I have collected from Creeksea."

Miss Donnelly’s exhibition will take place from April 1 until the end of October.

Burnham Museum can be found at the end of Coronation Road with its entrance from the quay.
