A care home claims it has improved following the publication of a damning report branding it “inadequate”.
Elmcroft Care Home in Brickhouse Road, Tolleshunt Major, was the subject of an unannounced visit by inspectors on October 28 and a report was published by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) last Wednesday.
In the report, it notes how one resident told inspectors that staff “could get cross with them” when they asked to use the toilet.
Another added that they had been told they were “not important” when they had used their call alarm to summon help during a bout of illness.
An Elmcroft spokesman said: “Since the inspection in October 2014, detailed action plan monitored by senior management has ensured Elmcroft Care Home meets the CQC compliance and continues to do so.
“Elmcroft will continue to work with CQC in an open, honest and transparent way.”
