A Burnham postmaster has backed a town’s campaign to keep NatWest open.
Ani Patel, who has been based in Station Road for more than five years, told the Standard: “We had no idea that the NatWest branch is closing soon.
“I myself, am a customer of the local NatWest branch.
“I am 100 per cent back the calls from the town to not let it close.
“The bank is part of the community and its staff are local and part of the economy of Burnham on Crouch.
“However should the process of closure still occur, I can categorically confirm that we will hire more staff (perhaps even the staff from NatWest, should they want a job) and man all the counters more fully to ensure the community does not struggle."
