A wind farm operator has submitted fresh plans to bring turbines to the Dengie by boat.

Renewable energy developer RES has applied for a variation on conditions of its original plans for a wind farm at Turncole, The Marshes, Southminster.

The fresh application is for a change to the type of turbines installed and also a change in the way they are transported to the site.

RES wants to install seven turbine of up to 126.5 metres in height from blade to tip, with associated electricity transformers, underground cabling, access tracks, road widening works, crane hardstanding, control building, substation compound, communications mast and anemometry mast for a period of twenty five years.

RES would be reducing the size of the hub, but increasing the size of the blades.

The firm has also applied to deliver the turbine components by the River Crouch following a public campaign led by Burnham resident Ian Sisterson.
