Maldon will be benefitting from about £1.2m worth of major improvements and a new venture.

Plans for a £600,000 pirate-themed adventure golf course have been given the go ahead in Prom Park.

The course could be open as soon as Easter. 

Costly repairs to Maldon’s Hythe Quay have finally been approved nearly a year after it was damaged.

The council will spend about £350,000 on improvements.

A £1m pledge has been made by Essex County Council to repair pavements and improve the look of four town centres, including Maldon. 

Cabinet member for highways maintenance and small scheme delivery, county councillor Eddie Johnson, said: “Our town centres have always been the powerhouses of our local economies and the Town Centre Footway Maintenance Improvement scheme will ensure that doesn’t change.”
