A grandmother has shaved off her hair in support of her sister after she lost her hair following cancer treatment.

Sue Moore, 73, has raised more than £450 so for Cancer Research UK after getting the chop at Headline News Hair and Beauty in Southminster.

She decided to shave off her thick locks after her sister Mary, 74, lost her hair following treatment for ovarian cancer after being diagnosed earlier this year.

Mrs Moore, of Hill Side Road, Southminster, said: “Mary lives in Suffolk so it’s a bit of a trip and as I can’t be there physically I said I would go through this part with her."

Mrs Moore is hoping to raise £600 from the head shave, which took place on October 21.
