A raft of proposals to promote the Maldon district have been unveiled in a draft action plan.
Commissioned by Maldon District Council, the document sets out ideas to bring more tourists to Maldon and the Dengie Peninsula.
These include promoting Burnham as a “Window on Wallasea” with live streaming of areas of interest on the island throughout the year, for example activity in a bird’s nest.
The idea is to project this image onto a wall or pavement or empty premises somewhere in Burnham “to create interest and another visual link between the two sides of the River Crouch”.
A recommendation has also been put forward in the draft report to create a “world class art installation” on the island, which would be visible from Burnham.
It was also suggested there should be a Made In Maldon marketing project so that all Maldon products could be bought under one roof.
