The Duchess of Cambridge hit the headlines when she was treated in hospital for severe morning sickness at the beginning of her second pregnancy.
Having suffered hyperemesis gravidarum when she was pregnant with Prince George, the poorly Duchess appears to be suffering again, cancelling state trips for bedrest.
Hyperemesis gravidarum often requires hospitalisation and although not common, the condition impacts on 2% of pregnancies, causes debilitating sickness for the expectant mother.
We spoke to mothers affected by the condition.
Georgina Hall, 41, of Stock Chase, Heybridge, has four children, aged from 22-year-old Zach, to 11-month-old Kayleigh.
She suffered throughout all her pregnancies.
She said: “I started being sick as soon as I fell pregnant.
“It was every time I smelled or saw food.
“With my second pregnancy with Brandon, 19, it was particularly bad and I was hospitalised a few times, they put me on a drip because I got so dehydrated."
