Sailing fans flocked to Hythe Quay in Maldon to watch the regatta and enjoy a day on the prom.

The annual event took place on Saturday.

The racing vessels included large Smacks and Bawleys and classic and modern yachts.

Organising committee member Don Ramsay said: “We had a good race in the morning, the airs were very light so we had to shorten the course and extend the longest time you could keep going for.

“It has been a great success, there were 63 entries for the regatta which is a good turnout. I’m very pleased."
